Very very slow download!

This is my first time downloading or using torrents but I badly need help.

I am trying to download a 700MB movie and according to this thing it will take me another 14 hours.

I don't own the computer I'm using and have no idea of technical stuff relating to it.

If someone could just give me some very basic advice I'b be incredibly thankful.

Well what's the modems name or routers name that's giving you your internet connection. Also have you tried downloading torrents that are highly seeded but lowly leeched. Try a torrent from here..http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/index.html and report back with your speeds. It could be the torrent, not your program.
