utorrent 1.2.1 sending on strange ports

After accepting the update from 1.2 to 1.2.1 my firewall reported some strange behaviour.

It said that utorrent was trying to send an email, and then said that it was trying to access another port which is unrelated to the port which I have configured it for outgoing access.

I rejected both attempts to make illegal access and then utorrent stopped working.

I've since removed 1.2.1 and have 1.2 loaded again. This works fine.

System is Windows XP running SP2. Firewall software is Zonealarm security suite 6.x (latest update).

I checked the announcements for the release of 1.2.1 but couldn't see any information regarding utorrent using extra ports for reason x.
