New Vista laptop and not enough space error

Hi, I have a new laptop with windows vista. I installed utorrent 1.7.2. and created an empty folder on my desktop for downloading. I continually get an error message that states that I don't have enough free space, but in reality I have lots of free space. I looked at the utorrent website for a solution and it says that I need to convert my FAT32 drives to ntfs but with Vista they are already NTFS. Can someone help me figure out how I can solve this problem? Thanks. : )
