Apparently you can't add to the discussion after it's been closed or I'd have added it there... <?> But, what about partial file locks for writing, i.e. leaving read access as it currently is. Preventing other processes (indexing) from locking it, and keeping people from deleting it or otherwise modifying it while it is under uT's control? Or.. locking sections of the file as used?
