kieranmullen
I have downloaded 0.1 % of a 6 GB file yet the folder is taking up 6 gb space.I have yet to understand why this feature is enabled or how people can take advantage of the feature. I try to disable it when possible. By default I believe it is turned off in the latest release of utorrent. Preferences>Downloads> "Pre-Allocate all files"So why then are my downloads taking the full space?Thank youKieranMullen
CodeRed
Check the file's properties in Windows. It may be that even though the file size is 6GB it doesn't really use that much until it's fully downloaded. That's because uTorrent 1.7.2 uses sparse allocation by default. slipstream
uTorrent 1.7.2 uses sparse allocation by default.Hm? diskio.sparse_files is false by default for 1.7.2, i.e. "Reset" button sets it so.
