mishkin
Hey I upload torrents at a few private trackers and I was wondering about encryptionit's disabled by default but I do see people in the swarms with the E flag, should I enable it?Whats the pros and cons of enabling it? Will it restrict who I share data with or increase it or have no change on who? Do people who need encryption to cut through throttling need me to have it enabled for it to work? Will it increase the load on my server to be using encryption or is just the header and not the actual data encrypted?Second question is about the disk cache, I've noticed overriding the auto settings to a large disk cache actually makes performance worse, whats optimal for seeding to many peers at high speeds?? My server has a gig of ram.Thx
Switeck
Encryption enabled with legacy connections allowed is the MOST flexible setting and should allow you to connect to anyone who is connectible at all.
mishkin
why would it be disabled by default if it doesn't restrict who you exchange data with?
Switeck
I thought it was enabled by default sometime after v1.6.0?!
Ultima
I don't think so. I'm not really sure why not either
Switeck
It's supposed to accept encrypted connections with the default settings though, in case someone has their client set to forced encryption.
