da chicken Posted November 25, 2005 Report Posted November 25, 2005 After completing a torrent last night, I closed µTorrent and browsed to the download directory. There was a thumbs.db file there, and, forgetting I still needed to seed, I deleted it. Later, I opened µTorrent again, and the torrent would not seed, complaining of corrupt or missing files. As a workaround I remove the torrent and readded it, but µTorrent should have decided that the active torrent was incomplete and begun leeching again, instead of deciding that the torrent was unfixable. Also, why does µTorrent internally flag that a torrent is in seed mode and retain that state after the client has closed and been reopened?
chaosblade Posted November 26, 2005 Report Posted November 26, 2005 Just stop and re-check the torrent to find out that the .db file was missing and it would redownload it..
Firon Posted November 26, 2005 Report Posted November 26, 2005 Yeah, it's not unfixable, but it does tell you that files are missing. It doesn't do anything automatically because you may have accidentally moved it out, which means you could fix it easily. Just stop the torrent, right click and use "Force Re-check".
da chicken Posted November 27, 2005 Author Report Posted November 27, 2005 Odd... I stared at the menu like three times and never saw force recheck. I see it there now. Was it just added, or am I crazy?
Chrono79 Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 It was there since a couple of versions ago.
