deadlywave
I'm having a bit of trouble with torrenting on my current connection. For once it's not about not being able to receive incoming connections, it's having too much of them. Mainly after i close uTorrent i get incoming connections that waste quite a lot of bandwidth on my connection (wireless) which has a limit on the TCP/UDP connections. It seems to do this for a long time afterwards - a few hours at least. It's like all the peers don't register that i am not actually torrenting and keep trying to connect to me. The only way i seem to be able to fix it is to turn off the router i have on my wireless antenna for a minute or so. Is there any way to stop them coming in after i close uTorrent? Ultima
No. Other peers cache your IP:port, and connect to you periodically until they figure out that you're not "on" anymore. There's nothing you can do to stop it entirely. Disabling DHT (if you've got it enabled) might alleviate the problem a bit.
