jibba
I took my 802.11g wireless computer to a public wifi hotspot and saw amazing download speeds approaching 200k. I didn't complete the download and took the comp home and the best I can get on the SAME system and the SAME torrent is 14k. I've even opened the ports on my home router.I know that the hotspot has cable internet and I have DSL but I can't see whether that would make a difference. Why can't I duplicate that speed at home? 1c3d0g
Maybe that public hotspot has a different ISP than your home connection? I don't know... :/
jibba
I'm sure it has a different ISP.After thinking about it I think, unless someone can think of a uTorrent reason, my home ISP may be throttling me.
Firon
Well, if you got Network OK, are using a port besides 6881-6889, have ruled out your firewall slowing you down by disabling/uninstalling it, disabled PG2 just to make sure, tried connecting directly to the modem (if you aren't already), you might be getting throttled. 1c3d0g
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, that's why I asked if it was a different ISP.
