darknight Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 every time i load up utorrent it throttles the download speed of everything on my pc, newsleecher drops from 800k to 25-125k http is slow?
1c3d0g Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 Did you cap your upload? :/ Of course µTorrent is going to slow down your network a bit if you're downloading/seeding a torrent... :|
darknight Posted November 27, 2005 Author Report Posted November 27, 2005 no cap, it shouldn't slow down downloads from 800KB/s to 25KB/s with utorrent d/l @ 20k? it does not have this effect with azureus or any other b/t program i have tried!
1c3d0g Posted November 27, 2005 Report Posted November 27, 2005 You should, and it's recommended, to cap your uploads and downloads to about 75~80% of your maximum bandwith speed. This allows ACK packets to go through without getting congested in the mayhem of general traffic. Try it out and report back the results.
darknight Posted November 27, 2005 Author Report Posted November 27, 2005 hmmm..i cap the upload speed tried between 1kb/s-40kb/s this does improve the d/l speed of other apps running but they still r not running at full speed have tried a number of diffrent b/t clients doesn't occur with any other u/l speed cap or not?
darknight Posted November 28, 2005 Author Report Posted November 28, 2005 nobody got any ideas, have tried many diffirent settings and i'm getting nowhere
