fwnt77
I have always used utorrent but I just got a new computer, that uses Windows Vista instead of XP, and I can't get it to work now. Other computers with Windows 2000 and Windows XP on the same network use utorrent okay, but it won't work on this new one. When I try to use it, by opening a torrent, what happens is the torrent shows up like it's supposed to, but the download never begins, and there's a little red icon at the bottom that tells me no one is connecting to me, and if the icon doesn't turn green it may be a problem with my network.I don't know why it's not working when other computers on the network are. I do know when I am installing (and reinstalling) utorrent and I click on the button to test whether my port is open, it always tells me it is not. But I am not good with computers and I can't figure out how to open the port. I looked around in security settings, tried making utorrent an exception to my firewall, tried making the individual port it was trying to use an exception, and nothing has worked. I think the problem has to do with Vista because that is the only difference between this and the other computers on the network, but it may be that my wireless connection is not properly configured with this computer, or maybe something else. Does anyone know how to get it to work, or specifically how to open a port? Any help would be much appreciated.
