Hide taskbar icon (NOT Tray)

Recommended Posts

I have two monitors. uTorrent's window is on the second monitor, so I can look at it while working on the main monitor, but the taskbar icon gets in the way and is not needed.

I want to request a feature option of hiding the taskbar icon/button, but having the Tray icon AND uTorrent main window remain visible. (I do NOT want to hide the uTorrent window.)

(As suggested, I searched the forums and did NOT find such a feature request.)

WinAMP has such an option, for example. ICQ and Xfire main window also work this way.

Yeah, there's no way to do that.

Actually, it is possible. I have made several apps that provide such an option (to hide taskbar icon and only have a notification icon).

To Firon:

What you did wrong:

Answering the question before talking to a programmer.

As an admin of a forum you should know better.

Let me point you in the right direction:

Here's an example:

CreateWindowEx using extended window style WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff700543(v=vs.85).aspx

If i remember correctly there are more ways of doing this.

Lets hope you can handle constructive criticism better than answering this forum question.

iru, I think what he meant is that the current version of uTorrent does not have such an option.

Of course it can be done in general/programatically, but not sure if they will want to have such an option.

I'm referring to there being no option in the client. I'm well aware of what you can do with window styles.
