masfak97
I updated to the new 1.7.5 and now the program causes the computer to crash after a minute or so since the program started. The screen just turns black and the computer reboots. I've tried to disable "NAT-PMP" but wotihout any improvement. Any tips? How would I know if I have incompatible software or hardware? (Not many changes since it worked with an older Utorrent-client).
Switeck
Really bad networking drivers, software firewalls, or viruses can cause that.To test more conservative settings in µTorrent, try this:Turn off DHT (both kinds).Disable Resolve IPs under the Peers Window. (That's expensive window-dressing considering it doesn't help download+upload speeds any.)Reduce half open connection max to maybe 1-4. (You're not firewalled in µTorrent, right? ...so it shouldn't hurt as much as you might think!)Disable resolve country flags in advanced.Disable "Enable Local Peer Discovery". masfak97
Thank you for your reply. I tried what you suggested but still does the same thing. I'm using the latest drivers from Atheros to improve the connection between router and network card. Tried to switch back to the latest D-link drivers and still the same problem. Scanned the computer once again for viruses and spyware but came up empty. I have the windows firewall activated but did with the earlier versions of Utorrent aswell, worked fine then. The only other difference is that I updated my router with new firmware that makes the connection more stable (It dropped for no reason every 6-12 hours. )Any other suggestions please?
