Ultima
First link in my signature regarding interrupted connections.More importantly, though, is the fact that Tiscali is known to throttle BitTorrent (you can search the forums for proof of that) :/ Even if you fix your browser problem, µTorrent might not get much better speed-wise because of your ISP. Switeck
Tiscali has just recently taken a very hostile approach to BitTorrent traffic, even moreso than before. They probably cripple the line entirely if any BitTorrent traffic is detected.
paulb100
i got my Speedtouch W-Router from them on thursday (2 days ago) and everything has been fine since... I downloaded 700Mb file in 20mins on uTorrent hilst browsing (outside of peak hours) Tiscali stated me that they DONT throttle it-Torrent traffic but advised against p2p as i may experience slow speeds...what it boils down to tho is FUP...I dont breach as i do my downloading outside of peak hours...and uToZ was fine on thursday and friday but today was acting up again but that just could of been the torrents underseeded....The problem initially seemed to be with my Netgear W-Router and uToz and Tiscali (as it was all ok on AOL before)
Ultima
Tiscali stated me that they DONT throttle it-Torrent traffic but advised against p2p as i may experience slow speeds...lol um... huh? They're the ones actively thottling, and then they come around and say that you might get slow speeds? There are enough people that have complained about Tiscali on the forums to pretty much conclude that they do throttle BitTorrent. They're almost definitely lying (as many other ISPs do about throttling).
