Weird uTorrent connection behaviour

Hello, i must apologize due to first post being a help request.

I've read all the guides and FAQs, i've configured my upload speed correctly (i have a 600/128k cable internet connection), been using uTorrent for ages and never had big issues with it. My port (random) is currently accepting connections. I have DHT disabled, and i use ZoneAlarm Classic (which hasn't been an obstacle before).

Yet when i try to download from this torrent, uTorrent behaves strangely. The incoming connections icon is green, but when i take a look at the Peers tab (about 40 connected) none of them has requests going on. This means my uTorrent client isn't requesting any piece of data, right?

Even stranger (and very curious too), there must be about 600 peers in the swarm, of which 270 of them are seeders. But in my Peer tab, i only see a bunch of seeders and the rest all have 0.0% of the file. There's no one in that list having any downloaded amount between 0 and 100%... which sounds silly.

What is also strange, is that none of those clients requests pieces of mine. I've practically sent no significant data in all this time.

Anyway, it's been over an hour and half since i started downloading this torrent. And within that time there was a single period of about 4 minutes of maximum downstream use, under which i got most of my current 15Mb of downloaded data (out of the torrent's 170Mb total). The rest of the time, i got sometimes about 1kb/s, or nothing at all.

Also the tracker has shown a "Disconnected time out" status since the beggining. Is this the main reason of this behaviour?

I'd apreciate any light on this matter. Thanks in advance.

Hello, and thank you for your answer.

Well i've been a bit away and haven't been trying to download anything lately, until today.

For some reason, uTorrent seems to be working fine now. I downloaded from a massively popular torrent, and am downloading a popular-ish one (about 160 seeders). No weird behaviour at all.

I'm afraid i can't tell if i did something to fix it (tho i have DHT enabled now), except for not attempting to download any torrent for a week. :P

Sorry for the trouble.

EDIT: Ignore that whole text.

It is happening again :(

I downloaded half of this 1.8 gb torrent and everything was going smoothly, downstream was reaching its maximum very often. Then i had to shut down the pc, had to do something else.

When i come back and turn it on, it seemed as it was going to keep the high rates up. But it never did, and after an hour or so the torrent started to behave wrongly just like before.

Trackers aren't connecting, and all my peers are either 100% or 0%. And i'm only downloading at about 10kb/s, which is 1/7 of my download capacity. It's been like that for some hours.

I didn't do anything except turn my PC off for a while. What could have happened? What should i do?

Thanks in advance.
