gss
Can anyone fix this? Is it because I have too many connections open? I got 450 max global connections and 100 max connections per torrent. Should I lower those values? It's very hard surfing the internet while utorrent is running. I have to load pages as much as 10 times to get them to load. Thanks.
maryjay
i only have problems if the upload is over about 10kB/s otherwise its maybe a little slower especially when i upload around 20-30kB/s. i'm only on a 1.5mb connection though. Switeck
What's the measured speed of your connection, both Down AND UP?(Your ISP may not be giving you what it claims!)What settings are you using, as shown by Speed Guide (CTRL+G)?(Speed Guide wants to know your max UPLOAD speed, not download!)Have you changed any of µTorrent's advanced settings?(Some settings changes can crash µTorrent and possibly even your computer as well!)Have you tried the troubleshooting guide?:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992(LOTS of things to try that may completely fix your problems!) gss
download speed is about 300 kb/s and upload is about 50 kb/s . I had DSL with AT&T. I tried disabling Upnp and then I turned off the DHT settings and took it from 450 max global to 250 and changed the 100 max connections to 60 and it started working better. I didn't change any advanced settings, though except for the max half open connections ...changed it to 4 but I have since switched it back. Switeck
Some routers (Such as Belkin, D-Link, wireless, or USB) cannot handle more than 60 connections total...of which µTorrent's connections may be only a small part.Total number of connections is only a tiny part of the myriad of settings in µTorrent. Even some of the more obscure settings can cause some pretty crappy performance if changed far from Speed Guide's suggested values. You say you changed the half open max setting in µTorrent to 4 then back (to the default of 8?) -- any reason/need for that change? Are you firewalled?Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide's section on slowed connections?
