utorrent not launching IE7

Hi, I've read all the guides and lookked through this forum but can't find the answer so if I've missed it then sorry.

I've set my dad up with utorrent on his xp machine, forwarded the port on his router, capped his upload speed at 80% and done just about everything else I can think of but now I'm stuck.

If he tries to launch a search from utorrent, (the search box in the top right hand corner,) nothing happens. Also the same if he tries for example to check that the port is forwarded correctly, by using the "Check If Port Is Forwarded Properly", button nothing happens.

It's not a major problem I know, but it is a bug that's driving me mad.

Any help greatly appreciated.
