Rondack
Mass number of IP's accessing my computer throught UT port I designated even after I exit UT. If I reboot sytem all is ok until I reopen UT. Is my system being accessed by hackers? How can I stop this? I have XP with firewall on and also use PG. It's through PG that I see all the allowed IP hits even with all torrents finished and UT shut down.
µtorrent-Guest
those other IP's are not aware when you close your µt. So it's normal when you get connection attemps on the port you used for µT even hours/days after you shut down µt.
Lord Alderaan
Its the way BitTorrent works. Your IP gets spread to other peers through the tracker and people will start connecting to you. When you close µtorrent those people don't immediately know about it so you keep getting connection attempts but unless µtorrent is running they will fail so its pretty much harmless. It can take days or even weeks for those attempts to completely stop (this depends on trackers and other people's clients) although they will reduce in number fairly quickly (a few hours usually).
