super.taboo Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 I'm currently running a D-Link DIR-625 and have the port forwarding set up, but whenever I run uTorrent my connection immediately starts to deteriorate, slowly resulting in a complete loss of connection. My connection runs fine when I'm not using it, so I know it's only related to uTorrent. Please help!

Firon Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Ew. D-Link router. There's your problem. D-Link routers are absolute garbage.Turn off DHT, put global connections below 100, and hope for the best.
super.taboo Posted October 2, 2007 Author Report Posted October 2, 2007 Sadly I already had that set. I tried lowering upload rate to 30 kbps, and that improved it enough to let it download rather well, but everything else internet related still crashes
Switeck Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Turn off DHT (both kinds).Disable Resolve IPs under the Peers Window. (That's expensive window-dressing considering it doesn't help download+upload speeds any.)Reduce half open connection max to maybe 1-4. (You're not firewalled in µTorrent, right? ...so it shouldn't hurt as much as you might think!)Disable resolve country flags in advanced.Disable "Enable Local Peer Discovery".
super.taboo Posted October 4, 2007 Author Report Posted October 4, 2007 It works a little better now, an one point I was getting solid download speeds for a couple hours but the problem started up again. I'm guessing I need a new router
