touchmymully Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 I've been familiar with bittorrents for quite a few years now, and have been using Azeurus, but it's a resource hog. A friend told me about Utorrent, so I decided to give it a shot. It's installed, but I can't get it to connect to any torrents, it says they're inactive, I'm not sure what to do. I think it may be a port issue, but again I'm unsure. I never had to switch anything with Az, so I guess I need help.I do my torrenting on my laptop always, and use wireless wherever I'm at, could that be a prob? Again, I never had anyproblems with AZ, so I just don't know....Any help would be appreciated.jas

touchmymully Posted October 1, 2007 Author Report Posted October 1, 2007 Not really fixing my problem. Since I'm wireless, and not always on the same router (sometimes I'm at home, at the coffeeshop, bookstore, etc) I can't necessarily enter the router where I'm at and port foward.....I'm not complaining, I really want to get this working, I just never had to change anything with Azureus. That's why I can't figure out what's wrong with this.@Dreadwing: what info could I give you that would help you help me?jas
DreadWingKnight Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 What software firewall, what antivirus and what other internet security software do you have?
touchmymully Posted October 1, 2007 Author Report Posted October 1, 2007 I have bitdefender10, I'm not using windows firewall. I just downloaded something with Azureus this morning. I uninstalled Azureus, then installed Utorrent. nothing else has changed with my setup since using Azureus. I've allowed Utorrent in bitdefender.jas
Firon Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Are you using the same port? Try using a different one, then remove and re-add whatever rules you have in BitDefender for ut.
touchmymully Posted October 2, 2007 Author Report Posted October 2, 2007 I just can't figure it out, it shouldn't be this hard, I'll just go back to Azureusthanks for your helpjas
