All Torrents Going Red ..... Help!

Hi,

I have read these forums and have tried many of the different solutions but nothing seems to work, all of my downloaded torrents drop down to red after a couple of minutes.

I never had this problem until about a week ago. I cant seem to find what has changed to cause this.

I upgraded to version 1.7.5 but have now dropped back down to 1.6.1.

I have checked the port and it is forwarding correctly. I have set my upload speed to 44K (I am on a 1.5Mbit broadband line).

I have tried this torrent (as recommended on another thread - http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/index.html

I have disabled windows firewall and also checked the exception settings.

I have followed different guides for different settings and nothing seems to make a difference.

Please help someone, I am at the end of my tether!!!

I have been happily downloading for a few years now, with no trouble until now!

Thanks

Siddex

I have now upgraded back to version 1.7.5.

How do I get the tracker status. I saw this but cant seem to find it?

Oh! My torrents are still downloading but a lot slower than they usually do. Also my seeding on member sites I belong to are not seeding at all and this is killing my ratio!!!

- Go to Preferences, Connection and check if Add uTorrent to Windows Firewall exceptions is enabled.

- Close uTorrent

- Go to win firewall exceptions. Remove all uTorrent entries (sometimes there are more than one!!)

- Restart uTorrent

These steps rule out the windows firewall block. Make sure you don't have other firewall installed (nvidia network manager or other crap). May you can provide a Hijackthis log (howto)

Win firewall is turned off.

Here is my hijackthis log:

If Symantec has any firewall-like functions, add utorrent to your exception list.

Also, have you tried disabling DHT, setting net.max_halfopen to a lower value (8 or less), and putting connections to less than 100?

Posted

Symantec does not have a firewall function.

I tried disabling DHT, and net.max_halfopen was on 8...and I tried 7, but no change.

What do you mean about putting connections to less then 100?

Edit: Found the connections now...no help.

thinking it's got to be an ISP issue...have been talking to em...and they are looking into it.

Posted

I am thinking ISP issue as well. Wound who are you with? I am with Eclipse.

My torrents seem to be OK except for the peak evening times. I.e. All evening they turn red but when I check them in the morning they are OK and seem to run OK all day as well. Has anyone else noticed ISP throttling download ports?

Posted

I am with a local company in Norway...probably haven't heard of it hehe :-)

A few other peopel here have the same problem...and I got my ISP to check it on their machines and they had the same problem...so hope they find a solution soon
