gustavonow Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 ppl use utorrent because its small, fast and easy; and some of them use it on private trackers. I might be asking for something that utorrent already has, but those trackers doesn't count the time you've been sending, besides, they count amount of data you sent, and not everyone leaves all the torrents seeding at the same time (I for example limit the number of seeding torrents) so you could like, make a ratio like seeders/leechers, and so utorrent would automatically give preference to send those "lower ratio" torrents or wait some time for somebody to download the torrent the user has choosen, and if no one downloads, change to another torrent that would be "preferencial" due to it's lower ratio. That sounds like a it could balance the needs of seeders and leechers and make it more fair for everyone in the p2p "community". Besides, if you'd seed a torrent, and there's one with [0seeders and 4leechers] and other with [0seeders and 1leecher] (both ratios would be 0) it could choose the one with the highest need, the one with more leechers [0seeders and 4leechers] and when the seeding starts the ratio of that torrent would change automatically making the one with only one leecher become preferencial for the next seeders.Hope that could help and srry for writing that much
Firon Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 This just falls under queueing rules that don't suck.
