stevebzzzzz
I get the Amber alert sign telling me no incomming connections, but yet I still upload files. does that make sense? I tried port forwarding and can't get that to work. I have the vonage linksys wrtp54g.If ppl are uploading from me...doesn't that automatically mean that I have incomming connections? Thanks

DreadWingKnight
Data can be transferred in either direction once the connection is established, regardless of the direction the connection was established in.
stevebzzzzz
So if I'm seeding a file, and it is actively uploading it...doesn't that mean I have an incomming connection, since someone is obviousily connected to me, and I can see their ip's? But yet the amber triangle still says no incomming connections? I'm really confused about that.

stevebzzzzz
How and why would I connect to them? For example, let's say I have 4 files, all of which are complete, and all of which are being seeded. If I start up utorrent, are you saying that it still actively seeks out and connects to other peers, even though there is no reason to, since all files are complete? If that's the case, why would it do that? If that's not the case, then how are ppl able to upload from me, when it says no incoming connections? I appreciate you're help here, cuz I'm really confused. Thanks,Steve
Firon
You connect to other peers so you can upload to them. Once a connection is established, data goes both ways. Doesn't matter if it was incoming or outgoing.Think of it like a phone call. Does it matter who calls who? No.
stevebzzzzz
OK, so do you mean that when I start up utorrent, my PC actively seeks out other ppl, searching for the ones that are trying to download my file, and then connects to them so that they can upload it?
