Aurelius
I have a question about speed and the efficiency of connections. Would the overall delivery rate of data improve if uTorrent measured the speed of the packets it is receiving and assign more bandwidth to those connections have a high speed?do connections that have a high download speed not almost by default a high upload speed? if so, that would speed not improve if those connections would sought each other out? Is it more efficient to send data over one direct connection than over many? if it is the former than wouldn't prioritizing those connections that have a high speed mean that the overall delivery rate of data would decrease? simply one computer sending some energy to another, multiplying, the only constraint is bandwidth of the slowest connection connection. distance is irrelevant. only time is relevant, we all want that bit of energy as quickly as possible. how does uTorrent keep the time as low as possible? DreadWingKnight
do connections that have a high download speed not almost by default a high upload speed? No.Cable connections typically have a more disproportionate upload vs download ratio than DSL connections.Datacenter connections ALWAYS have a different ratio from residential connections.
