Port problem: port + 1

Hello.

This has been happening for the last 3 versions of utorrent. Been hopin it would fix with an update.

Ok, I go to Options > Preferences > Connection.

I set my Port for incoming connections to X.

(assume my router & modem's firewall are open @ X)

I get the Orange Triangle at the bottom, Click it.

The port number in the box is grey'ed out (i can't change it)

The port number displayed is (X + 1).

Say my port is 1000, the displayed port number would be 1001. (1000 + 1)

If i set it to (x - 1), it will not increment to X.

It only does this if I set the port to X when the ports open = X.

If i set any port under Preferences, It will not be grey'd out when i check it.

Everytime utorrent closes (PC shuts down). I have to redefine my ports on my modem & have to trick utorrent into working right because of this.

Just don't understand it...

Me neither. Maybe you can have your router forward a range of ports. For example, have your router forward ports 1000 to 1010. This way, you can set the uTorrent to something in the middle like 1005.
