zartceps Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 If this problem already has been dealt with before I apologize, it's my first post and I cannot understand why I have this problem.I use one of the most known trackers, I can connect with other peers and download but I cannot upload to other peers because they cannot connect with me. I do not have this problem with other free trackers, and version 1.7.5. of microtorrent is an accepted client. My tracker status is workingDHT status is not allowedThe network connection works like it shouldI have enabled DHT NetworkEnabled peer exchangeEnabled protocol encryption and enabled encryption in the download speed guideI have asked some friends about my problem but have not been able to fix the problem. I would be grateful if anyone can help me with this. I don't know what I have missed.
Switeck Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Have you tried Ultima's Troubleshooting Guide?:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992Have you changed any of µTorrent's advanced settings?
zartceps Posted October 17, 2007 Author Report Posted October 17, 2007 I have not changed any of the advanced settings. I'll have a thorough look at the troubleshooting guide before I post again. I suspect that the problem might be related to that there are a lot of seeders (the swarm) of the two torrents I am currently seeding.edit:I managed to get a torrent to seed when the network was not OK. The box was gray. I do not think that it is swarm-related.The tracker has not been down from what I know. All I know is that peers managed to connect with me when my preferences made my network connection to turn gray.
Switeck Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Yes, you should be able to seed even if firewalled and even if the tracker is down so long as you've already connected to some peers before the tracker went down.
