duyvan82 Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Hi all, since we always go over our monthly download quota, I'm just wondering if there's any way to prevent users on my network from downloading stuff using utorrent. I've tried messing around with the ports settings on my router but I haven't got any success at all, utorrent somehow still manages to download stuff even though the ports have been blocked (i know they're blocked because the port checker says so). Thanks in advancePS: my router is a netgear dg834g
Switeck Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 (Advanced settings changes: )If you can change their µTorrent settings, change their half open limit to 0. Or tell µTorrent to bind with 127.0.0.1Or put in an IPFILTER.DAT file that blocks 0.0.0.0-255.255.255.255Also put in reasonable limits on everything so NEXT month you won't have overrun problems.
Firon Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Blocking incoming traffic won't block torrent traffic. Or damn near anything.
