Switeck Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 I am pretty sure your ISP hates you and wishes for your BitTorrent experience to be so painful that you never do it again....and no, this isn't a joke reply.Do some searches here and via GOOGLE for your ISP and BitTorrent problems or throttling or blocking.
sharkie_shah Posted October 28, 2007 Author Report Posted October 28, 2007 ur not helping switeck but thanks anyway
Switeck Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 Your ISP tries to cripple BitTorrent...you're getting exactly that. You seem to be on:Tiscali UK LimitedHere's an example post:http://www.the-scream.co.uk/forums/t25798.htmlHere's another...your ISP isn't picky about how much it ruins consumer experience:http://machinist.salon.com/blog/2007/08/13/bbc_iplayer/index.htmlUnfortunately, if encryption settings in µTorrent don't help...there's not much we can do.
trabb Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 I'm on Tiscali UK, and can confirm that they are utter goons. I've had the same problem with all downloads refusing to connect to the apparently timed-out trackers. You can forget downloading from Friday evenings through to Sunday night and especially during Tiscali's "peek hours" from about 4pm to sometime after 11pm every night because it's painfully slow. I usually get 1-3kBs down and up on 1152kbs/288kb (I live out in the woods, fastest line I can get thanks to BT!). I've talked to other people on Tiscali and they have the same problem. Week nights are your best bet for better speeds. No amount of setup tweaking will make any difference to speeds for the rest of the time. If your downloads die totally then just don't download for a few days, usually the limit is taken off and you can hammer them for all the bandwidth you can!
sharkie_shah Posted October 31, 2007 Author Report Posted October 31, 2007 iv about to switch to sky and i do admit tiscali is a complete rip off somtimes they have these next problems and it doesent connet at all then they say sorry ps.switeck how did u know i was on tiscalip.s.s and i kno this is completly differnt subject but i cant downlaod internet 7 it ses my security is blocked but once i did install succesfully but i got rid of it by acident so plz someone help me
Switeck Posted October 31, 2007 Report Posted October 31, 2007 µTorrent message forum moderators and administrators can see poster's ips...from there I do a reverse DNS here:http://www.ripe.net/ripencc/pub-services/db/whois/whois.html...since I was pretty sure by your ip alone that you were somewhere in Europe. This lookup is more general-purpose, but doesn't always get the reverse DNS for all the continents:http://www.dslreports.com/whoisAnd yeah, they really do want you gone...make them miserable before you go. Companies whose profit model is based on consumer fraud don't deserve to be treated nicely IMO.
sharkie_shah Posted October 31, 2007 Author Report Posted October 31, 2007 thanks switeck ur a good help and i will 100% follow ur adivice
Switeck Posted November 1, 2007 Report Posted November 1, 2007 Good Luck...I hope your next ISP is much better.
