dannybz Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 Everytime I would start utorrent, some of my files will start downloading for a couple of minutes. After a while, maybe 5mins or less, my connection will stop, my downloads stop, and I would not have connection to the internet at all. My whole network will lose connection to the internet. I will have to reset my modem by turning if off and on again to have a connection. Then I could browse the web, download stuff from the internet (direct link), listen to music and even use another P2P software to exchange material, and I would still have an internet connection working. It is only whenever I use utorrent, either just start the program without active downloads, that I will lose my connection. I don't know what is the problem. I have followed the instructions on how to open a port for utorrent, but still get message that the port is not open or is not being forwarded correctly.Previously when I had a Win2K (I have now a WinXP SP2), i don't remember utorrent causing this problem. I remember downloading material at an average of 20 kbs, which is good for me and keeping downloads/uploads for days.I have a XAVI x8024r Modem, Home Network connected by a Switch, which then connects to the modem, dedicated DSL. Please help.
