cow117
I have play with utorrent for a while. I find out there is a problem about fragmentation. I have tried to defragmentation and make a lot of room for the drive before I start BT a file using utorrent. I have observe the following things: At the beginning, It allocated one big block of space for the file. (the same size as the file)But when some Pieces was downloaded. It saved in the hard drive randomly. At the end, The file was fragmented in thousand of pieces.I don't know is it happened to other BT software. I didn't try it. But it created a big problem when more and more files are download.
DreadWingKnight
Considering download order is random, piece placement on the hard drive should be equally as random.
Lord Alderaan
If u think its affecting system performance make sure you do not download to your C: partition.OS, (installed) programs, (installed) games, pagefile, etc can suffer from fragmentation. Media files and archives usually don't.
