surf3r
I've got the latest utorrent release and expirienced no problems until recently. A while ago I had to force windows shutdown while downloads were still in progress, on reboot utorrent went rechecking those files and after that the led for disk activity doesn't go off. It makes me almost impossible to do anything with computer. I tried killing utorrent process, but it didn't work. I had to reset my xp. After that event I started utorrent a dozen of times and usually it worked fine for a while but then again disk activity goes wild and never ends. I tried changing disk cache options in advanced with no success. I also heard nod32 I had at the time could make some problems so I unistalled it. The same problem continues. Task manager shows me utorrent is eating about 20MB of memory.Any advice would be appreciated.
Firon
The hard drive may have damaged sectors, and when it hits them, it locks up trying to recover the data from them.
