jim0203
I'm using utorrent in Vista and the max upload limit setting is being ignored: whatever I set it to, utorrent just uploads at whatever speed it wants to.I usually use my laptop on my home wireless connection, where the max upload limit works fine; the problem only started today when I started using my laptop at a friend's, using his USB ADSL modem.Any ideas how I can fix this? I've tried disabling DHT but that hasn't helped. Thanks, Jim.
DreadWingKnight
Did you try turning on the limiting of local peers?
jim0203
Thanks - that's solved it!What does that option do, anyway? Just wondering how it solved the problem...
Ultima
It limits the down/up rates for peers determined to be "local" to you. If unchecked, they'll be unlimited (surprise surprise ).
jim0203
LOL - so how come I've got "local" peers when I'm using an ADSL connection and I'm the only one on it? Would the local peers be other people who are using the same ADSL company/server or something?
DreadWingKnight
Because there's some issues with how some configurations define a peer as "local"
