How do i set the peer limit?

I'm on a tracker that's having freeleech at the moment and i'm getting killed - which option to i alter so i can still stay connected to the peer, but, uh, queue them up, or whatever, so i'm actively uploading to a limited number of peers so i can keep decent speeds to them, but stay connected/idle to the others in line. (excuse my terrible terminology)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

µTorrent does queue peers up -- that's what all those idle actual connections are (you aren't normally transferring from/to every single peer you're connected to).

@Ultima - i think i get that. but right now i'm connected to 40+ peers and sharing out my upload that much really kills me with overheads - is there any way to manually lower the number of peers i'm connected to, so i can get better speeds with them, and less overhead wastage?

Overhead from just a few tens of peers won't kill you -- it'll take (in my random estimation) *at most* 1KiB/s (if even that much -- I tend to doubt it). When you're uploading, you're only uploading to as many peers as you have set for the upload slot limit (give or take a few, depending on how fast you're uploading).

In short, I really think you don't need to be messing with the connection limit, but if you still want to, then the place to look would be Preferences > BitTorrent.
