wildwestgoh
OK, this is my friend's router so I can't post anything much about his router information, but I just got to know his problem is almost similiar to mine DLink router (DSL-504T) whenever uTorrent start downloading. After the uTorrent run for about an hour or so, his Live(formerly MSN) Messenger start to lag and eventually disconnect, and he said he can't surf some of website (probably some of them are retreived from cache so it has no problem). Now my question is whether it's the max connection threshold problem that happen in my DLink router? If it's, what can he do to improve the speed? Does it has sort of scripts and/or application that can access the router to increase the max connection(like one here) ??If anyone need anymore information, please let me know, I'll try to dig from him as much as possible, thank you very much.Edit: Oh yeah his TCP/IP max half-open connection (windows) almost had me shocked, 1000, I give him the patch software(TCPIP.sys) and had him checked. Does it affect the modem as well?Edit: Color of the network status light in µTorrent's status bar : GREENWhat the port checker from the Speed Guide writes: 17551What the Speed Guide shows your settings to be: Upload limit: 0KB/s, Upload slots: 4, connections: 40, connections (global): 180,max active torrent: 20, max active downloads: 20encryption not enabledWhat you have net.max_halfopen set to: 8Operating system installed: Windows XP SP2Security software installed: Avira Antivirus, windows XP's firewallExact router model(s), and exact modem model: Aztech DSL-600E Modem routerISP (Internet Service Provider) being used: StreamyXConnection type: ADSLConnection speed: Speedtest.net, on recommended server, 878kb/s Download, 238kb/s Upload (kilobits)
