Question about Transfer Peer Statistic

Under the General tab, there is a category called Transfer that has a statistic for Peers. I am currently uploading a movie and it says 8 of 8 (7 connected). Under the Peers tab, it shows there are in fact 8 peers uploading. But how can 8 peers be uploading this movie when only 7 are connected? What does this mean?

You're mis-reading the connection stats

it's X of Y (z in swarm) and the z in swarm is an estimate based on tracker information.
