jessielee Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 I am having trouble with my AVG firewall as it is blocking utorrent. I am trying to find out how to find out how I get the utorrent file name so I can add it to the list of allowed programmes in my firewall. Can anyone tell me how to find it on my browser please? This is the instructions I got from AVG but I am not very au fait with my pc!1. Open "AVG Control Center"2. Right click on the "AVG Firewall" component and choose "Configure"option from the menu3. Select the "Applications" tab4. Click "Add Application" button5. Type in some name in the "Application name"6. Click "..." button7. Browse for and select the uTorrent executable file.8. Make sure that the "Allow" Action is selected and click "OK"button.
stathis Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 It should be under c:\program files\uTorrent\utorrent.exe
jessielee Posted November 26, 2007 Author Report Posted November 26, 2007 Thanks for your reply. Would that be UTORRENT.EXE-1A7F4CDA.pf? I am not sure and don't want to put the wrong thing in and mess thangs up.
stathis Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Well, i'm not sure how AVG is treating what it believes is dangerous files, but try renaming it first to utorrent.exe and then add it to the exception list
jessielee Posted November 30, 2007 Author Report Posted November 30, 2007 Well I have no torrents uploading at all now, did all the things you said and am still getting the same message, is there any way I can check if it is working at all please?
