rcrh Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 I use the RSS feedreader to start downloads and I like the fact that I can set each download to be saved in a different location. However, I'm using Windows Home Server (WHS) and I find that having my torrents going to a server location causes a ton of hard drive activity as my storage is "balances" my WHS. So, I'm wondering if its possible to have all active downloads saved to one location but to have each individual download moved to the location set in the RSS set up once its complete? Thanks in advance.
Ultima Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Yes, you can do that. In µTorrent, go to Preferences > Downloads"Put new downloads in" should be the temporary location"Move completed downloads to" should be the completed locationUnfortunately, affects all torrent jobs (not only torrent jobs obtained through RSS).
rcrh Posted November 29, 2007 Author Report Posted November 29, 2007 I knew about the download settings. But, this doesn't do what I want. I like that I can have each of my RSS driven downloads end up in different directories. The settings you listed would put all of my completed downloads in one place and then I would have to manually move then and then go back to utorrent to set the revised location so that the seeding continues. That's a lot of work and i'm toooooo lazy.
Ultima Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 Different directories can be handled by using different labels depending on the feed, and setting µTorrent to use labels as subdirectories when moving. Anything more flexible has been requested as part of the per-label options request.
rcrh Posted December 5, 2007 Author Report Posted December 5, 2007 Pardon? can you give more details? I've looked and can't find anything linking labels & directories.thanks.
jewelisheaven Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 It's the option "append label name to directory"... I never have used it before it doesn't sound intuitive like ultima explains it does. I presumed it added the label name to the current directory, not adding the label as another directory level. Its under Ctrl-P -> Other iirc.
