Roploplo Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 Hi,I am trying to send a file to a friend through torrent. My problem is that i can not seem to send the file any faster than 33kB/s while on other torrents i max out my connection at 90kB/s. I thought it was on his end but after testing he told me that he can max out his download speed on other torrents.Does anyone have any idea on what could be the cause of that (i.e could it be because i'm only sending to one person) and how could that be fixed? I have read and done what is in the "Read First" part of the forum and tried a search but have not found any answer.Edit: I have just tried using Azureus instead and i can reach 80+kB/s sending to my friend, so the problem seems to lie within utorrent. I am not really a big fan of azureus so i would much rather get this fixed than use azureus.Any help will be appreciated, thanks!
Switeck Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 This may be a bug in µTorrent.I've seen it before in another file-sharing program (BearShare) years ago, and it's called upload pipeline stalling. The other end is supposed to reply that it got what you sent it before you send lots more, but the reply is delayed (usually due to high pingtimes) and so upload speed suffers...waiting for the reply. When you're uploading to multiple peers and/or uploading very slowly, it's not likely to be a problem...as you've seen.Do you have a pingtime under 100 ms to your friend?
Roploplo Posted November 27, 2007 Author Report Posted November 27, 2007 Sounds about right, as for my ping, I usually have a pingtime in the 80-90ms.
