Switeck Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 Chello ISP I've heard throttles BitTorrent traffic quite heavily.Have you tried the OpenOffice test torrents to see if they can download quickly?(They should be VERY fast!)Links to them can be found in Ultima's Troubleshooting Guide:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992What's the measured speed of your connection, both Down AND UP?(Your ISP may not be giving you what it claims!)What settings are you using, as shown by Speed Guide (CTRL+G)?
jasiek Posted November 30, 2007 Author Report Posted November 30, 2007 i just downloaded opeoffice with top speed of my brandwich! :>what now ? that was the test ? or i should install it ?<noob>2mb/256kbi using xx/384k to have 2 active downloads.p.s. OK! Port 24798 is open and accepting connections. xd
Switeck Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 OpenOffice is just a speed test torrent...to us. Have to have something completely legal to test. If your upload speed max is really only 256 kilobits/sec, you need the xx/256k setting in Speed Guide.Even beyond that, you may see a slight additional speed increase by:Disable Resolve IPs under the Peers Window. (That's expensive window-dressing considering it doesn't help download+upload speeds any.)Reduce half open connection max to maybe 1-4. (You're not firewalled in µTorrent, right? ...so it shouldn't hurt as much as you might think!)If you've manually port forwarded your router, or don't have a router, Disable UPnP in µTorrent.Lastly, reduce total connections to 100 (or less) and only 40-60 connections per torrent.
