computer freeze

my whole computer randomly freeze when using utorrent.

this only hapens with some torrents so its posible its a problem with a certain tracker.

im ONLY using Panda Titanium antivirus and firewall. i DONT use a router.

anyone got a clue how to fix it? i looked in the FAQ at the troubleshoot on the avastfreeze but panda dont seem to have any p2p options.

like i said, its posible its a problem with certain trackers but that shouldnt effect the whole computer?

Re. the bear/marsupial dust-up, well, I have to go with braman on this one. Even the World Wildlife Fund seems to think that its mascot belongs to the bear family.

i never did find a way and its not even sure that it is Panda thats causing problems. it never did with any other programs and if it was panda, i figure it would freeze all the time while using utorrent and not just on some torrents.

since this is a forum for troubleshooting and im a complete noob when it comes to this sort of things i hope someone with a litle more experience can come to a conclusion and give me a response a litle more constructive then "its probably that program".

a new piece of information is that when i used 2 torrents files using the same single tracker, one of them froze the computer and the other one didnt. that excludes that its a problem with certain trackers.

If you don't mind could you run Process Explorer (http://www.sysinternals.com). If you click on utorrent.exe and enable the lower pane (View -> Enable lower pane (Ctrl-L)), switch to DLL mode (Ctrl-D) save that list (Ctrl-A) and paste it above, or below? It will show exactly what is linking into uTorrent's process. Anything but Microsoft tagged DLLs should be eyed with suspicion and you should know what they are.

The general course of action is to uninstall possible problem software to see if the problem remedies itself. If with both suites disabled from accessing utorrent.exe (through an exception list) or its saved / downloading directories the problem persists the problem lies elsewhere.

Well if its not software it is hardware. Are you running x86x64 or multi-core CPUs?

Usually all problems lie in either software interfering with uT's ability to communicate, software injecting itself into uT making the process unstable, or drivers.

Yes just deleting the DLLs would cause problems. That's why you should look at the configuration for said antivirus to see if there are "exception" lists you can add utorrent.exe and / or your uT downloads and settings folder to. Regarding MSN... why does MSN chat need to look at or inspect processes. I feel ANY program that does more than just searching for and eradicating bad things on your computer DOES not need to have it. It is feature bloat and usually causes problems. Logitech... you'll have to disable whatever feature that is, or remove the software suite entirely to see if that is the precipitator for the problems with uT. :/ If there is no rhyme or reason to the freezing... it is unlikely a tracker communication error would cause uT to stop responding.

Since it is being loaded into utorrent, the only hope of removing it fully is to attempt the un-install of the program while uT is closed. If it will not remove itself through Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs, then you may want to manually delete the folder heirarchy for MSN Plus, or install it again, and immediately uninstall it.

Then you need to get to safe mode and get rid of the msn plus remnants.

hi! im back!

now ive tryed removing panda.. still doesnt work.

its odd though. the last time it happened i noticed that it didnt happen untill after about 50% of the download was complete. before that there were no problems.

the download was 4gb in size so its not like it could have been luck that the first 50% worked fine.

Honestly, at this point I don't know. Your Windows install has so much stuff that it could be a broken driver or faulty hardware. :|
