shin_kyo21
My donwload and upload speeds recently have dropped to 0-4 kb, I usually get 30kb or more. I dont know what happened everything seems to look fine. I can connect to seed and peers even the network connection says its ok. But when i try to test my port if it was forwarded correctly it says its not open even though i have the green tick. I never had this problem before. I haven't changed any settings. Anyone want to help pls? thanks in advance.
jewelisheaven
It is possible your ISP started shaping traffic. Are you on Tiscali?
Switeck
My guess is...something like Optus ISP in Australia?Do the OpenOffice test torrents run ok?
jewelisheaven
He means check here: http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/Also Fedora Core Torrent or Webpage can be used to verify maximum obtainable speeds.
shin_kyo21
Yeah i got Optus ISP in Australia and i did all those open office torrents thingy majig. They work perfectly fine even at max speeds but any other torrents they don't work properly. Is it just my isp or what? If my isp is shaping traffic, how can I change that? Thanks
Switeck
I've read conflicting things about Optus ISP. I think they throttle based on continuous (2+ hours) upload activity rather than singling out BitTorrent. But since I'm on the other side of the Pacific...and actually closer to the Atlantic Ocean...I don't really know for sure.
