mrfjong
Is there any way to backup the setting in uTorrent? Can I copy the settings.dat or is that not sufficient?
dAbReAkA
you can copy settings.dat and settings.dat.old which would only backup your settings..if you want to backup your torrents list you'll need resume.dat too and all the torrent files in the settings folder

espresso
What if I have about 100 torrents and setting up a new server where the files might change location, will the resume locate the files or will it just say cannot find files? If that is the case what is the best possible method for me not to go to 100 torrent and redirect them to new location? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ultima
It'll complain about the files being missing. The safest way to move things around would be to allow µTorrent to recheck all the files (meaning you should be redirecting things manually). An alternative would be to edit the resume.dat file manually, which can be done via some hex editor, or via BEncode Editor (third link in my signature).
