Pillowcase
I don't know if this is normal or not but it kinda ends up making my ratios look bad. My maximum download speed seems to be around 150 kb/s but my upload never goes above 1/3 of that. Could this be a problem with my configuration? jewelisheaven
If peers cannot download that fast then no. If you are sure you are connected to peers that have such a high download, you may want to lower your active number of torrents, and increase the number of upload slots. N.B. You're describing 1 Mbit synchronous communications if you're expecting equal upload, is your line rated for this?
Pillowcase
I know it's not a problem with lack of needy peers or upload slots because the ONLY time my upload has EVER moved from 50 kb/s was when I had a problem with my connection (and of course my download was affected too) it just bothers me that I can't upload faster. Is there any real reason those speeds wouldn't be the same?
jewelisheaven
Line speed if you're sure about the peers bit. And you're not limiting upload. And I'm not sure what effect read cache would have.
Pillowcase
No, I'm not limiting upload and my read cache is practically empty, so that leaves line speed. But why would my line be 3x faster coming my way? By the way I tested my speeds at dslreports.com and it told me "ISP compression detected your upload speed may be inaccurate" or something like that. Would that have anything to do with it?
jewelisheaven
Probably, lol. But I don't know what that would mean
Switeck
ISP compression = transmission was compressed, so you don't know if you're receiving at full speed or "faked" speed.
