mcgoo
when started utorrent 1.1.3. i can´t open any websites. it´s not a bandwith problem, because utorrent just connects peers to seed, but there´s no up/download at this time.i´m thinking utorrent connects to fast. and it seems to be a problem between utorrent und winXP SP2 (patched for more connections)further i´ve noticed that problem utorrent can´t connect trackers which are definitivly online
eva.02
running fine on my laptop, and i've got irc going on there too connected to 5 different servers and numerous channels
mcgoo
irc here too, thats not the problem.but i think utorrent makes too many connection attempts, so i can´t surf...
eva.02
Surfing fine here too, I don't think it is µ causing the problem. How many torrents are you running? What kind of connection are you on?Surfing goes back to normal when you close µ? eva.02
Hmm well if you are patching XP with 3rd party stuff... I'm running a clean XPSP2 install and everything is a-o-k
mcgoo
for me it didn´t work without that patch
okasvi
same here... it just keeps connecting to peers but no traffic what so ever...edit: now(after repatching to 50half-open connections and rebooted) it started downloading really slow... seeding works 100% tho might be that it is with tracker tho... would be nice if someone could test if they get fast speeds from scarywater-tracker(anime related...) chaosblade
The 10 Maximum Half-Open TCP Connections in XPSP2 can cause issues sometimes, but usualy it doesnt interfer with anything.
vurlix
µTorrent handles XP SP2 half open connection limit, so there is no special patches to apply to the system or anything of the sort.
chaosblade
Thats nice to know, though i already put a patched tcpip.dll on my custom install cd just incase.
Keloran
i have the same issueim not sure exactlly what is happeningbut im using 0kb/s upload, 0kb/s download, and yet i cant browse, even when browsing on another machine (with torrent still runing machine a) i cant browseand i thought it might be my netconnection, so i rebooted router, started utorrent, went to browse and nothing, on any machines, turn off utorrent and within 1-5min i can browse again
kookie
I to find that browsing slows down whilst running utorrent, even though it's only seeding one file and using a small fraction of my upload. Stop the torrent and it goes back to normal.

Guest
i´ve patched XP_SP2 with the TKIP patch from this site:http://www.lvllord.de/?lang=en&url=newsthis patch allows to set halfopen connections from 10 to 50. since i applied the patch utorrent runs without any problems .but be aware that you´re manipulating your OS with third party ware, if you use that patch.. istrebitjel
Actually, I wonder if the people that have this problem experience the same behaviour with e.g. Azureus....And what does the Help/Debug Info Dialog say in these cases?
bosk
Same problem with stuck web browsing and any other net activity slowed down (WoW with latencies > 1000 ms), and my OS is XP SP1, where there isn't the 10 half-opened connections limit.Closing utorrent the browsing and network usage goes back to normal. And it isn't a bandwidth problem, since I've a 10Mbit/10Mbit optical fiber connection.-- bye, Bosk
