SummerSmoke
I've been getting this message recently and it drops my download speeds down to 10kbpsAny suggestions?
jewelisheaven
You mean in the lower left corner of the taskbar?Under Ctrl-P -> Advanced -> Disk Cache, can you try enabling "increase cache size when disk thrashing" please?
SummerSmoke
already had that enabled. I tried manually overriding the automatic cache size, but when I did that my download stopped at 99.9%. Closed uTorrent and my download was back to 33% downloaded.. eh? jewelisheaven
Such a regression means that somewhere along the lines, the data wasn't being dumped... Did you enable "write out untouched blocks after 2 minutes" ?Was your uT manifesting RAM usage ~ equivalent to that much loss of data?
SummerSmoke
ya, had that enabled as well...
jewelisheaven
Strange. Well I can sort-of help you in that arena, keeping you from losing more data. Of course it has drawbacks.. bt.graceful_shutdown is a new feature which allows uT to stay open as long as necessary to finish its tasks. The default prior was to close after 10 seconds. With re-checking done on restart for all active-upon-close torrents this forced quit can be quite annoying. What this does mean however (I don't know the full details)... until it is done, it will stay in memory. I haven't tested it extensively so I don't know what could keep it open, but... that is another way to check / ensure valid data gets dumped to your harddrive.
