Port Forwarding suddenly stopped. Can't find an open port

Greetings,

I have been using utorrent for some time now. I have never had a problem finding a working port. Here is my setup:

WRTG54

Charlotte RR

Here is why I think the problem might be with my ISP. As of a week or so ago my cable tv/modem provider was adelphia. Afterwards both my TV and cable are now handled by RR. The hardware is still the same but the software for my TV changed and so did my IP. I have tried random ports ranging from 10000-50000 with no luck. I even placed my main PC in the DMZ with no luck. Is it possible that RR is blocking the higher level ports? Not all ports could be blocked as I'm typing this while WRD'ing in on port 3389.

Thanks!

Being a timewarner user myself I feel your pain... but they don't block traffic afaik. They do however actively shape you. Uhm, are you sure you checked the WRT54G sticky and it wasn't answered there?

What I would suggest is trying to log into the modem (192.168.100.1 should work) to see if they show anything you can modify there. Then I would remove, and re-add ANY port rule for uT you made. If you use uPNP, try removing all the ports added and let it start over.

It really is a shame the only alternative to fiber optic is cable internet for "broadband" which is controlled by that oligarchy of the top companies. They just keep switching/spinning off subsidiaries/regions to each other to keep the SEC or FCC off their backs. I miss the days before these multinationals could own so many media outlets outright.
