Hello Everyone,

I bought a new laptop a few months ago that crashes several times a day every day with the same exact error message. As far as I can tell, it only crashes when UTorrent is running. Any help you can provide me would be greatly appreciated. I am not an IT professional so this crash dump analysis stuff is very cryptic to me. I am hoping that some kind soul will assist me here. I don't know where else I can seek help. I can attach some mini-dumps if it would help you and if I am allowed to do so (I don't see a button here for attachments). If you need anything else, please let me know. Thanks!

My OS is windows vista ultimate.

My computer is a Toshiba Qosmio F45-AV411.

Err.. those always seem to happen with video drivers afaik.

Can you try http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=244617 and see if that affects anything?

You can also always try HiJackThis and paste the log here for others to look at

Also, is your VIsta x64?

erm I guess that all looks ok. Though it seems Toshiba really REALLY Likes to add personalized programs... Surely they're not all necessary?

Also Google Desktop's Indexer is a known problem causer in relation to uT.

In my experience if you get this error while using µtorrent it means that µtorrent's extensive use of hardware (network card usually) is causing an error in the driver (and sometimes even in the hardware itself) to surface.

Do not use a USB network device. Use the laptops internal UTP port or if it doesn't have one buy a PCMCIAA network card. Same goes for wireless, use the internal wireless or buy a PCMCIAA wifi card.

If you are using the internal/PCMCIAA network device then update your driver to the newest version available. If that doesn't help try updating other drivers to their newest version available (motherboard, IDE/SATA/RAID cards, etc).

Thanks for the help. I just switched from the USB modem connection to an Ethernet connection. I will wait for a while to see if this fixes my problem.

Actually USB usually (2.0) has enough bandwidth to handle large amounts of traffic. Its just that the drivers (or maybe its the windows USB bit) are always crappy and I personally think they have problems maintaining more then a few connections.

Most people I met who had these IRQ bsods where using USB network devices although there were a couple using a normal NIC. And usually switching to a NIC (or updating the NICs drivers) solved the problem.

PS For those who were wondering about speed:

I can't notice any difference between my old USB connection and my new Ethernet connection. My internet connection is fairly quick when uTorrent isn't running, and is considerably slower when uTorrent is running. At times I will turn off uTorrent so that I can visit sites that are too slow when uTorrent is running.
