uAzu Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 Response to: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=28869on MAC instead use VMware Fusion
NoOneButMe Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 Fusion is a bad idea for a bittorrent client. Darwine uses far less CPU, RAM, and hard drive space. Not to mention it has access to the entire hard drive instead of your home folder and whatever you allocate to the VM image.
uAzu Posted December 11, 2007 Author Report Posted December 11, 2007 you can allocate share space outside of the VM so you're not limited in the way you described.http://blog.jeppys.com/?p=89Plus Fusion is a much more user friendly install. Your tutorial is great for power users
NoOneButMe Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 Steps 1 and 2 are point and click. Not difficult. Step 3 involves copying and pasting commands. Again, not difficult. Steps 4 and 5 are additional tips that aren't needed. I dont get how it's not user friendly when it literally gives the commands to copy and paste in.Whereas with Fusion, the tutorial you linked to is more of a 'power user' thing then anything that i wrote is. Hardly 'user friendly' Besides, who wants to waste cpu and ram to run windows when it's not needed?edit: and the point of this thread is to run uTorrent with Darwine (or Wine) for those of us that want to. If you dont want to, your choice. Just discuss VMWare in the proper place. Start your own thread or something. Just not here.
