The Midnighter Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 I've been working with computers most of my life, I'm now 21 and I learned my first coding language in grade 7, ah perl..Anyway, I'm just saying that so I can say this with full certainty, this makes no freakin' sense.I was just on the phone with my lady from my ISP (Eastlink) and she said that my speeds were fine (And they are, I'm downloading locally at almost 2 mb/s - However, uTorrent refuses to go above 26kb/s on a torrent with a 300 : 1 ratio for seeders. WHY?!I have tried EVERYTHING that you've listed.uTorrent thinks my network is PERFECTPort checker is A-OKSpeed guide is showing me as a 10/mbit usernet.max_halfopen is set to 8, though I've tried 4.Using windows XP Pro sp. 2Only security software is AVG Anti VirusUsing router DI-524 Revision A, though I have tried disconnecting my router for speed testing.
jewelisheaven Posted December 15, 2007 Report Posted December 15, 2007 If you are sure the problem is not your end, good. Then it is the peers you are connecting to.http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/ will verify whether or not your ISP allows you to download at full line speed.
