virgleomaris Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 Hi, I've been downloading a file for over a week and an half which finally gets to 70% Downloaded. Today, my internet connection went offline, as it sometimes does, forcing me to restart my CPU. I restart it, and get my connection back on, only to reopen my download and get an Error Message, saying "Files Missing."I Open my download folder to see that all of the files are still there and in tact, so I can't figure out why I'm getting this message. It's not even downloading anymore. Please Help!!!
DreadWingKnight Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 right-click the torrent, force a re-checkPost a hijackthis log please.
jewelisheaven Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 Why would a down internet connection cause you to restart your CPU?If you modem gets reset / offline, can't you reset that? Also if you have a router between you and your modem are you sure that's not the problem?
virgleomaris Posted December 16, 2007 Author Report Posted December 16, 2007 Okay cool, force Re-Checking did the job. Also the reason I restarted my CPU is because my Wireless Lan device in my Laptop sometimes goes out, in which case restarting my laptop forces a re-install, and puts me back online. Thanks much for helping me out with this, I really appreciate it.
jewelisheaven Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 Have you tried just removing the device under Device Manager? After it re-finds it, killing and restarting explorer should affect the change...The only time i've actually HAD to reboot when changing drivers is the downgrade from SP2 final to beta termsrv.dll (that much-touted but gimped in final version of "multiple user sessions" of SP2).Also I concur, DW knows the most succinct way to solve any problem.
